KY Epoxy Floor Specialists will be visiting sites to complete epoxy flooring in the office and equipment room areas.<\/p>\n
Project Order<\/p>\n
If your location already has epoxy in the lobby, the crew will focus on completing the equipment room first.<\/p>\n
If your location needs both the office and equipment room done, they will always complete the equipment room first, and then return to complete the office area.<\/p>\n
Prep Bay Schedule<\/p>\n
Day 1<\/p>\n
The crew will come onsite to paint the yellow lines in the prep bay only.<\/p>\n
The yellow lines must dry for the entire day before epoxy can be applied.<\/p>\n
Day 2<\/p>\n
The crew will return to fill in between the yellow lines with epoxy.<\/p>\n
Operations While Yellow Lines Dry<\/p>\n
The wash will be open and operating prior to the crew arriving to paint the yellow lines.<\/p>\n
We can continue washing cars while the yellow lines are drying.<\/p>\n
However, ONLY management should enter the prep bay area and only when absolutely necessary to reduce the risk of stepping in wet paint.<\/p>\n
Epoxy Dry Time<\/p>\n
Once the epoxy is installed:<\/p>\n
The site will be shut down for 24 hours to allow the epoxy to cure.<\/p>\n
After 24 hours, the epoxy can be walked on.<\/p>\n
However, no heavy equipment or items with weight should be moved back onto the epoxy until after the full 24-hour cure time.<\/p>\n
Removing Equipment & Items<\/p>\n
If your location is having both the equipment room and office completed, your District Manager will rent a box truck to temporarily house all heavy or loose items removed from the office and equipment room areas during the project.<\/p>\n
Temporary POS Setup<\/p>\n
While the office epoxy is curing, the POS system will need to temporarily run out of the equipment room.<\/p>\n
Managers will need to:<\/p>\n
Build a small shelf next to the POS area to temporarily place the router and modem.<\/p>\n
Run an ethernet cable from the router to the equipment room.<\/p>\n
Connect the POS inside the equipment room so the wash can operate while the office epoxy dries.<\/p>\n
Important Scheduling Note<\/p>\n
In most cases, the crew cannot epoxy the equipment room and office on the same day.<\/p>\n
Because the equipment room is always completed first, you will be able to enter the equipment room epoxy areas 24 hours before the office area.<\/p>\n
This is the reason we run the POS from the equipment room temporarily, so the site does not have to remain shut down for an additional full day.<\/p>\n
For example:<\/p>\n
If the equipment room epoxy is completed on Day 2, the site will remain closed until mid-day the following day, depending on when the crew finished the previous day so we can ensure the full 24-hour cure time is met.<\/p>\n
DAY 0 \u2013 PREP DAY
\n\u2714 Remove items from office & equipment room
\n\u2714 Move heavy\/loose items to DM-provided box truck (if both rooms being done)
\n\u2714 Prepare temporary POS setup
\n\u2714 Build shelf near POS for router\/modem
\n\u2714 Run ethernet cable from router \u2192 equipment room
\n\u2714 Confirm POS can run from equipment room<\/p>\n

DAY 1 \u2013 PREP BAY STRIPING

\n\u2714 Site opens and washes cars normally<\/p>\n
When contractors arrive:
\n\u2714 Yellow prep bay lines are painted
\n\u2714 Lines must dry ALL DAY<\/p>\n
Operations During Dry Time:
\n\u2714 Wash may continue operating
\n\u2714 ONLY management may enter prep bay if absolutely necessary<\/p>\n

DAY 2 \u2013 EPOXY INSTALLATION
\n\u2714 Crew fills epoxy between yellow lines
\n\u2714 Equipment room epoxy completed first
\n\u2714 Office epoxy usually completed later or on separate day<\/p>\n
