SUMMARY:Fort Wayne Epoxy Project
DESCRIPTION:Team\, \nKY Epoxy Floor Specialists will be visiting sites to complete epoxy flooring in the office and equipment room areas. \nProject Order \nIf your location already has epoxy in the lobby\, the crew will focus on completing the equipment room first. \nIf your location needs both the office and equipment room done\, they will always complete the equipment room first\, and then return to complete the office area. \nPrep Bay Schedule \nDay 1 \nThe crew will come onsite to paint the yellow lines in the prep bay only. \nThe yellow lines must dry for the entire day before epoxy can be applied. \nDay 2 \nThe crew will return to fill in between the yellow lines with epoxy. \nOperations While Yellow Lines Dry \nThe wash will be open and operating prior to the crew arriving to paint the yellow lines. \nWe can continue washing cars while the yellow lines are drying. \nHowever\, ONLY management should enter the prep bay area and only when absolutely necessary to reduce the risk of stepping in wet paint. \nEpoxy Dry Time \nOnce the epoxy is installed: \nThe site will be shut down for 24 hours to allow the epoxy to cure. \nAfter 24 hours\, the epoxy can be walked on. \nHowever\, no heavy equipment or items with weight should be moved back onto the epoxy until after the full 24-hour cure time. \nRemoving Equipment & Items \nIf your location is having both the equipment room and office completed\, your District Manager will rent a box truck to temporarily house all heavy or loose items removed from the office and equipment room areas during the project. \nTemporary POS Setup \nWhile the office epoxy is curing\, the POS system will need to temporarily run out of the equipment room. \nManagers will need to: \nBuild a small shelf next to the POS area to temporarily place the router and modem. \nRun an ethernet cable from the router to the equipment room. \nConnect the POS inside the equipment room so the wash can operate while the office epoxy dries. \nImportant Scheduling Note \nIn most cases\, the crew cannot epoxy the equipment room and office on the same day. \nBecause the equipment room is always completed first\, you will be able to enter the equipment room epoxy areas 24 hours before the office area. \nThis is the reason we run the POS from the equipment room temporarily\, so the site does not have to remain shut down for an additional full day. \nFor example: \nIf the equipment room epoxy is completed on Day 2\, the site will remain closed until mid-day the following day\, depending on when the crew finished the previous day so we can ensure the full 24-hour cure time is met. \nDAY 0 – PREP DAY\n✔ Remove items from office & equipment room\n✔ Move heavy/loose items to DM-provided box truck (if both rooms being done)\n✔ Prepare temporary POS setup\n✔ Build shelf near POS for router/modem\n✔ Run ethernet cable from router → equipment room\n✔ Confirm POS can run from equipment room \n↓ \nDAY 1 – PREP BAY STRIPING\nMorning:\n✔ Site opens and washes cars normally \nWhen contractors arrive:\n✔ Yellow prep bay lines are painted\n✔ Lines must dry ALL DAY \nOperations During Dry Time:\n✔ Wash may continue operating\n✔ ONLY management may enter prep bay if absolutely necessary \n↓ \nDAY 2 – EPOXY INSTALLATION\n✔ Crew fills epoxy between yellow lines\n✔ Equipment room epoxy completed first\n✔ Office epoxy usually completed later or on separate day \nSITE CLOSES AFTER EPOXY APPLICATION \n↓ \n24 HOUR CURE PERIOD\n🚫 Site CLOSED for full cure period \nAfter 24 hours:\n✔ Floors may be walked on\n🚫 Do NOT move heavy items back onto epoxy until cure time is complete \n↓ \nREOPENING\n✔ Reinstall equipment\n✔ Move items back from box truck\n✔ Return router/modem to normal setup\n✔ Resume normal POS operation
